2018: Asked by friends to go buy a fighting game, one friend tags along. We decide to take Street Fighter V (Arcade Edition™) because it's cheaper. When we get back, other friend ask me why didn't I buy DBFZ, it just released? Never played the game.
2019: Get wrecked by friends on HFtF because I don't understand how to do a quarter circle
2020: Pick up Guilty Gear +R because friend recommends it and I like Sol's Volcanic Viper animation, I don't know what a dragon punch is

Heh, never stood a chance... My only advice is keep playing the game because I don't know what exactly I'm doing myself, plus I don't know anything about any other character other than people kick my ass with them. Playing is the only way to learn, wasting your time in training mode is not going to get you anywhere. I can SMELL training kiddies who don't know how to react to someone. I'm also not a ideal candidate to learn the Sol matchup.
Why don't you do any Sidewinder* or dustloops?

Why do you only use default Sol color?
Canon color is best color. Also, red, white and black color schemes are my favourite, guess what Sol's default scheme is? It also helps reinforce the idea that, I'm very much (at best) a slightly above average player, i'm nowhere near the levels of some Sol players with less games than me. The real question is, why the hell do every Testament and Axl players all use the same two colors? They have others you know.

Bandit revolver RC is the funnest thing to do. Yes I'm too stupid to actually FRC it (seriously how the hell do you manage to do that?) but that BANDIT RC TEIYAH VOLCANIC VIPAH RC KITOME is enough for me. Do not use Joji Sol though, at all he's really good for cutscene, intros and outros but in game stuff? terrible pre Xrd, he didn't have any feel of the character. XX design really doesn't help him, honestly it's hard to believe Daisuke is not a professional VA, he's AMAZING in +R, he got better with every entry. if I have to hear joji's BANDIT... REVOLVAH one more time I'm going to freak out.
I can feel myself turning in a regular Sol player, ever since I found out about 5K>2H converts which are a ton of fun, and FINALLY I can do something after BANDIT BRINGAH that isn't gunflame or after a counter hit Riot stomp, but I've been slowly turning into a random Sol, hell I've done 3 reps of a SW loop (one of them was FB SW though.) That's not fun, that's just Guide Sol. I've stopped mashing as hard when I'm getting combo'd. I barely feel that adrenaline when fighting half of the time (though that's because 95% of the players better than me are dodging me now, why???) It feels like all that's ahead of me is learning how to air grab, gunflame FRC and just refining what I have. What's guilty gear about that?? I don't mind being bad at the game but I'd rather be Dick Justice bad than regular bad...
Taking a one day break is pretty key in not sucking dick..... Truly the brain is a goldmine of questions, a brainstorm if you will. Did you know your brain pisses out some liquid when you sleep cleaning the bad information out of your fucking head? That's fucked up. But your brain's got NOTHING on my GG skills. Mad. Insane....
